Fightertown Decals 48-029 SH-60F
California
based Fightertown Decals has produced a set of markings for 4 SH-60F Oceanhawks
that are part of the Naval Strike & Air Warfare Center’s organic flight element.
The decals are sized for the Italeri/Revell SH-60B kit.
Since there is currently no out-of-the-box SH-60F, a conversion set is
required for total accuracy. The
instruction sheet recommends the Cobra Company SH-60F conversion set, and
through reading the various threads on the modeling forums, the Cobra Company
HH-60H conversion set can also be used.
The
instructions are printed in full color, and a large B&W line drawing showing
common markings and data stenciling placement.
The painting guide has left and right profile drawings for the two single
color schemes, and adds an overhead view for the two-tone camo’d birds.
All
four aircraft can be done from this sheet thanks to the small size of the
markings and stenciling. Both the
main and tail rotors are light ghost gray on all four aircraft.
NSAWC
71 is painted in a 36375 light ghost gray/36081 dark gunship gray.
Several of the markings cross the camo demarcation lines, and the decals
are split into two along the demarcation line, so care when planning the color
lines is called for. Red stars
replace the national insignia on the sides, but there is the standard national
insignia is on top of the aircraft.
NSAWC
70 is in an overall flat black scheme with medium gray markings.
This aircraft has the standard national insignia on the sides and top.
NSAWC
72 an overall 34079 Leaf Green scheme with dark gray markings.
This aircraft has the red star/star and bar arraignment as on NSAWC 71.
The
second NSAWC 71 is painted in two-tone desert scheme of 30279 sand/30140 dark
brown upper & sides, and 36495 gray lower surfaces. Markings are again split
along the color demarcation lines, and a yellow, segmented “71” along with two
red stars are on the fuselage.
