Markings are provided for two B-29s:
“Dauntless Dotty,” a B-29-40-BW of the 869th Bomb Squadron, 497th Bomb Group, based at Tinian in 1944-45. This is the famous B-29 flown by Col. Robert Morgan, the pilot of the “Memphis Belle,” and was named for his wife. “Dotty” became the first B-29 over Tokyo when Morgan flew a single-plane recon mission on November 19, 1944, and led the first B-29 bombing mission against Tokyo on November 24, 1944.
“Lucky Lady” a B-29-50-BW of the 398th Bomb Squadron, 504th Bomb Group, based on Tinian in 1945.
In addition to the striking nose art for both aircraft, the sheet provides all individual and group markings for each plane. The appropriate national insignia comes on “B-29 National Insignia,” CED48-270.
The modeler should very definitely read the instructions that are included regarding how to apply the PYN-up decals, since their production makes them very different from the standard decals everyone is familiar with. Cutting Edge strongly recommends that no decal solvent other than Micro-Sol or Micro-Set be used on these decals.
Only 300 copies of this decal sheet will be produced.
