NOTES:

The text is brief and to the point and is printed entirely in English

Printed in the usual format that we now associate with this publication, it has 50 pages crammed full of 182 colour photographs and 5 none scale black and white sketches.

Please note none standard equipment is fitted to conform to European Traffic regulations these items are noted in the text.

The book draws on the restoration of three vehicles one of which is a very rare late production one.

Split into the usual sections of walk arround of three models, before reconstruction, exterior, canvas hood and frame, exhaust, exterior, interior, accessories mg mounts, gearbox and engine, water propulsion, undercarriage, front axles and lastly the wheels and tyres.

Comments, there are no parts of this fascinating vehicle left out, the quality of the colour photographs is very sharp and stunning. The line sketches help to clarify areas that are hard to photograph.

I have learnt a heck of a lot about this little vehicle, to illustrate just one part; I never knew the passenger front seat folded upwards. The section on how the vehicle enters the water and leaves is going to provide plenty of ideas for dioramas. The access to gearbox and engine is also going to spark ideas for dioramas.

This book is a must for those who want to super detail the kits available of this model. This book will help to clear the location of all those little pieces left over from the photo etch frets, due to lack of clear instructions.

For those lucky enough to be able to find an original Schwimmwagen to restore this is a must, this I fear will be mainly museums.

Once more Franti and the owners have covered a vehicle, which in the past has been scattered over many books and mainly in black and white and in many cases very poor quality wartime photographs or evaluations ones taken shortly afterwards. The authors are to be congratulated on sharing this information with us in one volume; I have no hesitation in recommending this book very highly.
