With the success of Tamiya's 1/48
armor kits, it was inevitable that there would be figure sets. So far there are
two German, one American and this one on Russian troops. As with the other sets,
the figures have separate arms, heads, torsos and there are a bunch of
accessories such as helmets, guns, packs and other accoutrements that festoon
soldiers in combat. Two of these latter sprues are identical and include a Maxim
1910 machine gun. Stands are provided
for those who need it and several of the figures are designed to be posed riding
on the tank. It is for the tank crewmen that makes this set so valuable to me,
however out of the 15 figures, only two are for a tank; a driver and commander.
No problem as the other figures offer a variety of poses and, as I mentioned,
some can be put riding on the tank.
