Yesterday, I
reviewed the bomb aimer's position and side gunner mounts. This
set is much more extensive and fills out the cockpit. It is a total replacement
for the rather basic kit parts in that it offeres full positions for the pilot,
co-pilot and the navigator/radio operator. This includes complete bulkhead
detailing as well as finely detailed crew seats, control sticks, instrument
panels, rudder pedals and the interior framework, amongst many other things. The
set also has a nice clear replacement cockpit canopy piece. The well done
instruction sheets show the material that has to be removed from the inside of
the forward fuselage, but aside from that, this is pretty much a drop in
replacement set.
For one thing, this and the previous
set will totally change the look of the interior of this kit.
