Resin |

There have
been a number of update sets done for the F-4, but not that many in 1/32. While
the Tamiya F-4D is a fine kit, it is also in the earlier configuration. Later in
life, the F-4D was updated with the ALR-69(v)-2 RHAW radar warning detection
suite. This changed the look of the nose of the aircraft as the IR detection
fairing under the radome was replaced with the antennas for the ALR-69. These
fairings were also added to the tail cone and a TACAN antenna was added just aft
of the radome as part of the upgrade.
Master Details has provided all these in a superb resin casting. You get the lower radome fairing, tail cone and TACAN antenna as well as a full nose radome with the fairing already cast in place. This second option provides an easy way to give yourself some additional nose weight and saves a bit of work. A decal sheet is also included with radome stencils and you get a complete instruction sheet showing just where all the bits are to go.
Overall, this is an outstanding set of superb quality and most reasonably priced as well.
