Not wanting to sound like a broken record, but once again, Leading Edge has produced a top quality decal sheet for a special scheme Canadian subject. This time they have produced two superb decal sheets for the 439 Sq 1992 Tiger Meet CF-18A. The 1/72 version has two full sheets and that is what is shown. I've also made the image less than crisp to prevent copying so there is nothing wrong with your monitor! The same markings are available in 1/48, though this one takes up four sheets (!).

The modeler simply has to paint the standard CF-18A scheme, gloss the aircraft, and apply the decals. Yes, there are a lot of them, but Leading Edge's outstanding decal placement guide shows exactly where each and every tiger marking is placed. There is even a required order for some of them, so following the instructions is paramount to doing a good model. In addition LE provides some extra color decals for the tiger markings in case you need a small patch job.

No specific kit is listed on the sheet, but I'd think that just about any currently available F-18 kit would work. In 1/72 the Hasegawa and Fujimi kits are probably the best. Make sure yours has the small wing fences. In 1/48, the majority will go with the Hasegawa kit, but one shouldn't overlook the Revell-Monogram kit if funding is a problem. You can use an F-18C kit, but you'll have to remove some of the C mods so I'd start with an A version. The various antennas that may be molded on the spine will also have to be removed and replaced once the decals are in place.

Regardless of what kit or scale you choose, this is one killer decal set and will make for a real crowd-pleaser.
