Zvezda 1/35 Soviet Naval Infantry, WWII
|REVIEWER:||Scott Van Aken|
Moving back to WWI, Zvezda has provided a superb figure set covering Soviet Naval Infantry. As is usual with their sets, there are six figures with all their equipment in various poses that should fit in well with either a diorama with other vehicles or in one the is similar to what is shown on the box art. The two figures with only one foot on the ground (the officer urging his troops on and the soldier with the bayonet on his rifle) have small stands to help with posing and placement.
The molding on the parts is extremely good with no sunken areas, no flash and no ejector pin markings. The mounting positions for the various pieces of equipment (packs and such) is well defined to help make for trouble-free construction. Unlike many other figure sets, this one has a clear set of construction drawings for each figure and a painting guide using Model Master paints. This is repeated on the back of the box with full color images of the completed figures.
Overall an interesting and well done set. Something that one doesn't see every day and should make into a most interesting diorama.
