This is the first of the more recent batch of ex-KMC sets reissued by True Details. For those of you who may not be aware of it, KMC went out of business several years back, and Squadron purchased their resin masters from them. It has been at least 5 years since any of these have seen the light of day, and so there are many modelers out there who will be very happy that these are now available once again.

This set is for the Academy Hunter F.6 and consists of a tub, seat, sidewall, instrument panel, control stick and throttle. Most of the little bits are for the seat. My set had a few problem areas. First, the left side wall is molded onto the tub and mine was cracked. Nothing major and easily repaired, however something you do need to be aware of. Secondly, it seems that the seat master had broken as the left bolster on my seat was a rather crude and patched looking affair. Now most will probably just leave it. But for those who are doing a competition model, it will have to be cleaned up with some filler and careful sanding.

Nonetheless, it is nice to have this available again. A much less expensive option to other sets costing two to three times as much.
