Here is a neat upgrade set for the Monogram 1/48 F-80C that has been released under the Revell label as well. This is an intermediate size of tip tank that is larger than the 'peanut' tanks that early planes had and smaller than the larger 'Misawa' tanks.

To help out the modeler, the set has the tank mounts molded into the wing tips. One simply cuts off the kit wingtips and installs these resin one. True Details has been kind enough to include tabs to fit into the tips of the wings, making alignment very easy. The tips have been molded along a natural panel line as well. The two tanks are a superb casting and there are no molding flaws whatsoever on any of the parts.

It is a fine set and like all True Detail items, reasonably priced and comes with complete instructions.
