The originator of the 'flattened and bulged' resin wheels is True Details. Some folks don't like the bulges stating that they are non-prototypical, but there are others who like the effect and choose TD wheels just for that reason. It also helps that they are very reasonably priced and easily available. I know that I use quite a few of them on my models.

The first set is for the new Hobbycraft P-59 kit. It offers a choice of nose wheels; either the solid version as used on initial aircraft or the spoked version later used. I've noticed that TD has started providing small raised resin surfaces below the wheels to make them easier to remove from the resin. A nice touch. This set is $2.98 MSRP or $2.47 from Squadron.

Next is a set for the P-47N. This version of the Thunderbolt had a greater weight so needed stronger wheels of 8 spokes instead of the 6 spoked version used on the D. The tread pattern is the more frequently used diamond tread. The price for this set is $1.98 MSRP or $1.77 at Squadron.

Either set is an improvement over the kit version and adds a lot for a little money.
