This new set from Scale Aircraft Conversions is for the Academy 1/72 P-39 Airacobra. Many consider this to be the best P-39 in this scale and while it is nice, the older Heller kit, despite its raised panel lines, is still not too shabby. This kit includes the nose gear with molded on wheel and the nose retraction strut. It also includes the main landing gear. A superb addition to this set is a cockpit/nose weight piece. Adding weight to kits like this has always been an issue, but now we have one that is molded to fit the space.

The parts are quite well cast and all one needs to do is clean up the mold seams, paint things and install them in place. This is a replacement set so the parts are designed for the kit.  It is not uncommon for cast metal bits to be a bit bent, but some careful straightening out will bring them into line once again.
