This last new set from Scale Aircraft Conversions is for the Hasegawa 1/48 F-8E/J Crusader in any of its many boxings. The set is complete and includes both main landing gear and the rather complex nose gear assembly. For those wondering how to get the nose wheel in place, cast metal such as this is able to be be gently bent so pulling open the wheel attachment section and then pushing it together will take care of that situation. As with all SAC sets, this is a direct replacement for the kit parts.

The gear is quite sturdy and all one needs to do is clean up the mold seams, paint things and install them. As you can see from the image, the casting is first rate. Don't sweat getting thinner bits that are a bit bent. By slowly working them back into position, they are as good as new. It is one of the realities of cast white metal that we all come across.
