This particular set is designed for the 1/48 Tamiya P-47D, either the bubbletop or razorback versions. This set is the main landing gear so is an easy one to do. It is a direct replacement for the kit items.

The gear is quite sturdy and all one needs to do is clean up the mold seams, paint things and install them. As you can see from the image, the casting is first rate. Don't sweat getting thinner bits that are a bit bent. By slowly working them back into position, they are as good as new. It is one of the realities of cast white metal that we all come across.
