If all you want is a nice replacement vacuformed canopy, then Pavla has what you need. This canopy is designed for the Dragon (Cyber-hobby) Meteor F.III, but may well work on the Airfix kit as well. It is molded in three separate pieces so no need to worry about miscutting a one-piece canopy.
