One thing about doing Luftwaffe research is the one comes up with some really interesting stuff. The folks at Eagle Editions have probably known this for years, but some late war FW-190Ds were fitted with wooden flaps to save on strategic materials. The extant D-13 variant has them (though I somehow missed this feature when I last saw the plane), and at least one other has been documented so it may well be a somewhat common items.

Not wanting to keep us from having a set for our next kit, EagleParts has chosen this for their latest aftermarket goodie. What you get in the set is a pair of superbly cast replacement flaps for the Hasegawa 1/32 FW-190D along with a great set of decals depicting the plywood verneer that was seen on the inside of these items. Apparently the 'outside' was painted the underside color.

Full color instructions are also provided as well as additional information on these most unusual features of some late war planes.
