There are probably some of you out there who want to convert the big Trumpeter Lightning to an earlier version. With the use of Cutting Edge's conversion set and this cockpit set that can be done.  A big plus is that this set is a no-brainer to use. No need to cut and hack and sand as one often finds with aftermarket cockpit sets. Once the parts have been removed from the resin pour stubs (and the set is so designed that this will be a pretty quick and painless process), one simply replaces the kit parts with the ones in the set.

In addition to the world-class molding of the resin, Cutting Edge has included a set of their very nice flexible seat belts. These readily accept paint and can be quite easily glued in place. What's more, since they are not rigid, you can place them in any position that you wish for that little bit of extra interest. Another note is that I've included the overall shot of the J/L set with an inset of the only thing different between the two sets; the instrument panel and control wheel.

The instructions are superbly done with a number of progression photos to help see how things are supposed to fit. This set will probably not work with the old Revell kit as the design of the two cockpits is quite different.

Overall, a great set and one that is going to make your big Lightning just that much better
