Despite the confusing box information, it seems as if this particular set is actually for the Revell kit. At least, that is what is printed on the instructions, so I'll go with that. As you have come to expect from Aires, it is quite comprehensive and includes an etched metal fret in addition to the usual pile of resin parts. I should mention, that due to the rather large piece of resin that is the cockpit tub, my set was not without damage. Three of the four ejection seat guides and one of the throttles had broken during shipment. Not sure how to prevent this kind of damage, though it would seem to me that perhaps wrapping the tub in bubble wrap may have helped.
As to just exactly what is in the set, there is the tub, two bang seats, side wall inserts, fore and aft instrument panels and glare shields, control sticks, throttles a couple of interior braces and a canopy brace in resin (not sure how long that canopy brace will stay firm as thin resin bits will deform when under weight or stress). Of course, you'll have to remove any sidewall detail on the kit and also cut out or thin down a number of kit parts. For photo etch there are things like mirrors, rudder pedals, HUD, various braces, instrument panel faces, seat belts and buckles (yes, they are separate), a few other seat bits and canopy locks. Though no painting guide is given, one need look no farther than the box top for inspiration.
All in all a most comprehensive set and one that will add that extra level of detail to your next Revell Strike Eagle.
