Resin

Here is another of those neat diorama things that one wonders 'why doesn't someone do one of these'? Well someone does and Signifer has provided one in their resin line-up of 1/32 aircraft field accessories. These bomb hoists were used mostly by the USAAF as Navy bombs were lifted into place by ordies.

Modelers building bombed up P-47s and the like will find this one goes great as part of a display. There are ten resin parts on three sprues with the main body being by itself and the wheels on another with the various bits on a third. Instead of having to worry about thin pieces of resin rod bending and snapping, Signifer has supplied injected plastic rod as well as wire to take care of axles and handles and the like.

Signifer's molding is first rate and one only has to remove the part from the pour stub or remnants thereof and give it a bit of a cleaning before assembly. The instructions provide the exact location that one has to drill holes and the length and sizes of the various pieces of rod. The well drawn construction illustrations take away any ambiguity as to what goes where. The cart itself would be in Olive Drab and you can use the photos of completed carts on the header card as a reference.

A truly fine diorama accessory that will enhance your next project or just be something interesting to build up on its own. These are available direct from the link below.

My thanks to Signifer for the review copy.
