As the name implies, this sheet is for USMC F-18C Hornets. Three of these schemes have appeared on other sheets with one being new (at least to me). All of these planes are post 2000 so all have the late centerline rack, GPS antenna, and SJU-17 seat. I don't recall  the available 1/72 F-18C kits from Hasegawa having these upgrades and frankly, I'm not sure where you can get them. I also dare say that you'll have to come up with the larger swept back antennas that were fitted on later F-18Cs as I don't recall these being included in the kits.

First up is the Commanding Officer's plane from VMFA-122 'Crusaders' as was flown in early 2004. The outer fin is painted in dark blue as is the centerline tank.

Second option is the CAG bird from VMFA-251 'Thunderbolts' while on the USS Theodore Roosevelt during its 2001 cruise. This one also has the five blade IFF antenna upgrade.

Moving on to a line bird, is this one from VMFA-212 'Lancers' during May of 2003.

The final option is another line bird, this time from VMFA-122 'Crusaders'. Note that this and all the others have a tan tip to the radome.

The sheet includes all the basic markings for these aircraft, though you'll have to glean the intake warning marking for the third option from the kit sheet or rob the one for the VMFA-122 line bird. Regarding the two color lerex walk areas: Two planes use the grey one and one the black version so if you want to do them all you'll have to find another grey walk area. As with other MAW sheets, a comprehensive load-out sheet is included. .

Overall a fine sheet and my thanks to MAW Decals for the review sample. You can get yours direct from the link above. Free shipping in US. International orders, see their web site for rates.
