Fresh from the press is this latest MAW Decals sheet for the F-18A Hornet. These are in the usual tactical paint scheme of FS 36320 over FS 36375. While no kit is specified, most will use the Academy version for this with the appropriate retrograde parts that are appropriate for the F-18A.

The first option is from VMFA-232 as recently used on the USS Nimitz' 2007 deployment. This F-18A+ is the CAG bird (such as it is) and includes the usual avionics upgrades associated with this type. The red and white on the fin will, of course, need to be painted by the builder.

The other is from the now disestablished VMFA-333. This is one of their first F-18 planes and is a very early Hornet without even the little LEX fences that were installed to prevent tail buffeting. Needless to say, any airframe external reinforcements on your kit will probably need to be removed when doing this scheme.

The nearly two full sheets have all the data markings and insignia needed and also include markings for the flare/chaff dispensers. You can mix and match them to provide a varied load. The sheet itself is superbly printed by Cartograf and so you know that the white will be as opaque as can be made.

Overall a fine sheet and my thanks to MAW Decals for the review sample. You can get yours direct from the link above.
