Here's a couple of very nice schemes for the Monogram 1/48 F9F-5 Panther. Both aircraft are in overall glossy sea blue. There are enough insignia for one of the subjects, but by robbing the kit decals you can do both. Trim on these is basically red and white which will contrast nicely against the dark blue.

First up is from VMA-323 in 1954. Both aircraft have bare metal leading edges of the flight surface and the tip tanks. These need to be painted prior to application of decals.

From VMF-314 in 1955 comes the next aircraft. This one has a light gull grey nose cone to add some interest. Both planes have a white 'T' painted on the speedbrake. As with the previous scheme, the gun port areas will have to be painted red to match the decals prior to decal application.
