This is the first of several new T-bolt sheets from Superscale. It covers the aircraft of one squadron, which was known for its use of RAF paints on its aircraft and the fancy checked cowlings. The decals are sized for the new Tamiya kits, but with a bit of trimming, should fit other P-47 kits as well. A full stencil placement guide is provided; as it is with all new Superscale sheets.
First up is 'Thoroughbred' of Lt. Lawton E Clark. No dash number is given but I've been told it is a D-25 so would need a Hamilton Standard prop. This one has RAF Dark Green over Sky as a camouflage.
A very similarly painted D-28 is 'Eileen', the mount of Lt Frank Oiler. This aircraft has D-day stripes on the lower fuselage and a black rudder. The tail stripe is without the black surround of the previous aircraft and must be painted on.
There are enough stencils, insignia and cowl checks to do one aircraft.
