Here is another sheet for the reissued Revell 1/48 F-102A. This one is for the 460 FIS around 1961. This particular plane is the commander's bird and has the stripes in a most unusual place; around the aft fuselage. The wing tips on this one are painted yellow and black so that adds quite a bit of color. Now when it comes to F-102s, there are a basic difference that needs to be mentioned. This is the wing. There were two different wings for the 102; the 'Case X' (10) and 'Case XX' (20) wings. Basically, the Case XX wing had a very noticeable curved down wing leading edge and wing tip. This wing was installed on all F-102s starting with serial number 56-1317 (often shown on the tail as 61317). It was NOT retrofitted to earlier aircraft. Though I have not bought the recent reissue, I've been told that only the Case X wing is provided in the kit. If you want the Case XX wing, you need the original issue Monogram kit as the ProModeler kit also has the Case X wing.
This sheet offers decals for both versions. The change is basically a serial number one and the other plane is not a commander's bird so does not have the fuselage stripes. I'm assuming from the earlier sheet that makes no mention of wing types, that the Revell kit is the earlier Case X wing.
