It is seeming more and more like the F-18 is turning into the prodigy of the Phantom II in terms of decal sheets done for it. Superscale has provided a brand new sheet that covers two very nice aircraft. Both are either boss or CAG birds, so have some color to them other than several shades of grey. They are both rather recent aircraft as well, which is quite nice.

This particular sheet has sufficient stenciling for one aircraft and insignia for both. The printing is super, nice a crisply done with no registration problems at all. The instruction sheet is excellent and shows the proper locations of all the stencil data in addition to the usual decal placement. Though in black and white, this is not a problem for most of us and sure beats spending the extra bucks for color.

The first plane on the sheet is an F-18A in the schem of VMFA-112 'Cowboys' commander's aircraft. It is in the normal greys with full color insignia and other markings. Squadron markings are in a nice blue color that should set this one apart from the others on the shelf.

The other scheme is a very fetching black and yellow scheme for the VFA-115 CAG commander's F-18C. This will require a bit of work on your part to get the scheme painted just right, but the sheet does include full instructions on how to do this. The result should be stunning.

Either scheme will look great on your next 1/48 Hornet.
