Another sheet from the archives is this one for various F-111 versions. No specific kit is mentioned in this one, but nowadays, we have the Academy/Zhengdefu/Hobbycraft kit to use for just about all of these. There is also the old Monogram/Aurora kit for the A version if you are so inclined. Frankly, both of these kits will be a real bear to build, and though there are lots of aftermarket bits around, they will challenge your modeling skills quite a bit.

Anyway, the first plane is an FB-111A and is painted in the standard SAC colors of the day which are FS 34079 Dark Green, FS34159 Blue Green, and FS 34201 Olive Green uppers with FS 17875 White on the lower surfaces. If you saw my article on the B-58 Hustler, I used the upper surface colors on it. The plane itself is from the 380 BW (now disbanded) and, like most of those FB-111As, carried the name of a WWII B-24 from that unit on it. In this case it was 'Lucky Strike'.

A standard F-111A from the 391 TFS/366 TFW is next it is in standard SEA colors with a black underside. This one is also the Wing Commander's plane. These guys now fly the F-15 Eagle.

Finally, an F-111D from the 523 TFS/27 TFW  in what was then the 'new' colors of overall Gunship Grey FS 36118. This unit has gone on to F-16Cs.

The sheet carries only common markings and insignia. Should you need data decals, there is a whole other sheet for that purpose.
