Their next F-18 sheet covers another pair of CAG birds, this time, they are F-18Es. As with the last review, there are kits by Hasegawa and Revell recommended for this one. Both options have the required dark tails with full color insignia. In this case, there are only sufficient insignia for one of the options as both planes seem to have insignia on the wings. Same goes for the few data markings supplied; only enough for one option.
The two planes are in the standard scheme of Dark and Light Ghost Grey, a couple of shades that are very close to each other in terms of paint, even though they are shown as quite distinct on the placement guide.
The first is the 2009 CAG bird of VFA-143, an ex-Tomcat unit. THis one has white lettering and Dark Blue fins.
The other is the 2009 CAG bird from VFA-81, an ex-F-18C unit. Black is the color for the fins on this one. On both planes, the very trailing edge of the rudder is in Dark Ghost Grey. I'm not sure why this can't be painted but it is standard stuff for the Super Bug.
As with other new Superscale sheets, these markings are superbly printed by Cartograf in Italy and will make for a great presentation.
