This new sheet from Superscale covers a trio of overall dark sea blue FM-2 Wildcats. These planes are from the 1945 time period and operated from escort carriers. This was the time of all the geometric patterns carried by planes to denote their air wing/aircraft carrier. These markings are designed for the Hobby Boss FM-2, though there is no reason to suppose they wouldn't fit the older Sword kit.

First up is the plane from VC-99 aboard the USS Hoggatt Bay, CVE-75. This plane has the lightning bolts and an all blue drop tank.

From VC-93 is the plane with the cloverleaf marking. This USS Petrof Bay, CVE-80 aircraft has a drop tank that is blue over white. This aircraft also carries a bullet shaped prop spinner.

The final option is from VC-8 with their arrowhead marking. They were aboard the USS Nehenta Bay, CVE 74. All the large white areas will need to be painted by the modeler before applying the yellow bands. Note that these go over the insignia on the fuselage. This plane carried an all white drop tank.

This sheet has insignia for two and wing walk areas for all three. As with other new Superscale sheets, these markings are superbly printed by Cartograf in Italy and will make for a great presentation.
