The most popular navy planes are those gloss black painted ones from VX-4 (now VX-9). The 'Black Bunnies' have been long time favorites and at least five different F-4s wore those markings. This sheet covers two aircraft. One is an actual black bunny, bu/no 153783. The other is one of the 'white bunnies', painted an overall white with markings in grey. You'll note that the white bunny carries no national insignia, rather odd, but there it is. It was one of the last new build F-4s, 158350.
Due to the dearth of markings on the white bunny, there are enough markings to do both aircraft. Most modelers will head for the Hasegawa kit and that is what the decals have been scaled for. Others will pick from what is out there, such as the still nice Monogram kit, or the one by ESCI, which isn't too bad, but rather bare compared to today's standards.
Either sets of markings will make for a most impressive F-4.
