This is the third time that Superscale has issued the 'Airacutie' markings. Apparently these are quite popular, otherwise the effort would not have been made. Of course the last time was quite a while ago with sheet 48-699 and before that it was 48-499. The Airacutie markings seem unchanged.

However, what has chanced is the second set of markings. This time it is a P-39L from the 93rd FS/81st FG operating out of Tunisia in 1943. By the time the red surround markings were introduced in June of that year, the Axis was out of North Africa and the invasion of Sicily was underway, so I'm not sure what combat this unit would have seen. If any, it would have been against targets on the western section of Sicily as the P-39 was not a long distance flyer. The aircraft is in the standard OD over Neutral Grey with red wing bands and the name "The Pantie Bandit".

The sheet will fit any 1/48 P-39 and while the Eduard and Hasegawa kits are recommended, I see no reason why your Monogram kit shouldn't work equally as well. Superscale provides insignia, wing walk and data markings for both aircraft.
