This particular sheet is for a very popular P-47D Thunderbolt, that of Lt. M. Davis of the 266 FS/358 FG. 'Tarheel Hal' is a P-47D-30 with the 13' asymmetrical Curtiss-Electric prop. THe aircraft has a red forward cowling and prop hub with the rest of the cowling in Yellow. Red covers the canopy frame and aft anti-glare panel, while orange is the color of the empennage. Though the instructions don't say, this may be a post war scheme, or at least the last months of the war.

Suggested kit is the Tamiya one, but I'd bet this will fit others. As the lettering colors are in doubt, both possible options are provided for you.
