Here is a nice sheet for some USN Hornets. The recommended kit for both is the Hasegawa F-18B/C. Both are in the standard paint scheme of FS 36320 uppers and FS 36375 undersides. They both have tan tips to the radomes.

First is the commanding officer's plane from VF-37 aboard the USS Harry Truman in 2005. The red fin stripes are provided as decals, though you may want to consider painting them.

The second is a standard line bird F-18B from the training squadron at LeMoore, CA, VFA-125. This squadron has adopted a nice fin marking which sure beats a plain tail code!

The sheet includes insignia and base data markings for both.
