Two new
F-18F sheets, this time both are from training squadrons. This sheet is
designed for the Hasegawa F-18F, but should work equally as well with the
Italeri kit. Both are in the FS 36320 over FS 36375 scheme. These shades
are very close to each other after the upper color weathers and makes it
difficult to determine what color is what.
The first aircraft is from VFA-122. This is the West Coast RAG or training squadron for the Super Hornet and was recently reestablished after going away with the A-7 Corsair II.
The other is from the East Coast RAG, VFA-106. This
squadron also serves the F-18C community so unless the F-18C mission is
going away, they are operating both types. This aircraft shows the outer
tails in the underside color. This isn't the norm so it may be that the
outer fin was repainted and just appears lighter to the older paint. Below
is a photo supplied by the researcher on this sheet so you can make up your
own mind in this regard.
