Really nice to see some Hellcat markings. Not exactly garish, as the USN wasn't in to a lot of color, but these are from the geometric pattern era in early 1945. Not only that, but USN planes of this period are easy to paint as they are overall gloss sea blue. The Hasegawa kit is the one for which these decals were fitted, but I'd bet they'd work on others.
First up is a VF-46 aircraft from the USS Independence in 1945. It carries the nice white checks on the tail and starboard aileron.
The other is from VF-83 aboard the USS Essex, also in 1945. The Essex' markings were a white 'bow tie' on the fin and right wing. This one is named 'death and destruction', something one doesn't see that often on USN planes.
