This is the first sheet I have seen for the new Hobby Boss 1/32 P-61B Black Widow and it concentrates on aircraft of the 548th NFG based on Iwo Jima in the closing months of the war.

All of the aircraft are overall gloss black with red spinners and red cowl flaps. By their very nature, these planes were not gaudily painted, but most of them carried interesting nose art and that is what makes them so interesting to modelers.

The first option is 'Lady in the Dark'. This is a P-61B-1 variant and is one of several aircraft that did not use the Curtiss-Electric decals on the prop blades.

Next is 'Midnight Madness'. This has its markings mostly in white and is also a P-61B-1 variant. Unusually, the nose art is on both sides of the plane.

The third option is for 'Cooper's Snooper'. This aircraft is a P-61B-2.

The decals are very nicely done and offer insignia and prop markings for one aircraft. All of the other markings will need to come from the kit decal sheet. These decals are superbly printed by Cartograf so you know you are getting the best. The full color instruction sheet shows just where all the markings are to be placed.
