Another
great new sheet for the Czech Model F-80C is this one from the 51st FIW. What
makes this one so nice is the superb nose art and all that red. This aircraft
was operated by the 24 FIS out of Suwon AB in the Fall of 1951. Like many F-80s
in theater at the time, the artwork on this one is, well, quite nicely done. Now
there are no images of the left side of the plane so in the case of the nose art
and name, it is only assumed that it is on the left as well. Same goes for the
markings on the Misawa wing tanks. It makes sense that it would be duplicated on
both sides of the aircraft, but in the case of 'Strip n Stare' it is not a for
sure deal. However, Superscale does provide them if you wish to
use them. The nose stripes, and tail stripes are provided as decals, but the
nose itself will need to be painted as will the upper nose anti-glare stripes.
Stencils will need to come from the kit decals. A neat touch that was in the
other sheet is a decal for the electric heating elements in the canopy top.
As with other new Superscale sheets, these markings are superbly printed by Cartograf in Italy and will make for a great presentation.
