NOTES:

For the Monogram kit.

Starfighter Decals has added another neat sheet for the Monogram 1/72 F7F-3 Tigercat. This time, it is two USMC subjects. Both are in overall sea blue, making painting a breeze.  There are sufficient markings on this sheet to do both subjects without resorting to aftermarket for insignia.

The first markings option is for a VMF-312 aircraft based at MCAS El Toro (now a business park) in 1946. USMC planes were generally not very flamboyant in the post war years. This one needs to have an ADF 'football' antenna mounted on the nose gear door.

The other is the much more colorful plane of VMF-312 that was an instrument trainer during 1946. This plane has large green stripes bordered in white, and the sheet provides those for you. You will need to paint the engine cowlings white before applying the broad, green stripes.

The instructions are quite well done and the sheet is superbly printed by Cartograf.  Regardless of which option you choose, you'll be very pleased with the results.
