NOTES:

Another great Starfighter Decals sheet is this one for what are basically Yellow Wings SBD-1s. The sheet provides options for one of three different aircraft. The SBD-1 had a different engine cowling to later versions and I am not sure if anyone does a conversion for this variant. No kit is specified, but Hasegawa and Airfix do kits of this aircraft and probably others as well.

The first option is from VMB-2 'Red Devils' based at NAS North Island in 1940. Markings for this one are insignia red.

Second is from VS-2 with most of its markings in white with a lemon yellow tail section. This set of markings is based on a photo taken at the Douglas plant. In those days, the planes were given unit markings at the factory.

The third option is the second USMC plane from VMB-1 based at Quantico in 1940. Blue is the basic color of this one.

The decal sheet provides enough markings to do one aircraft and by using kit decals, at least one more could be completed. The instruction sheet provides color and placement information. Note that the yellow wing markings wrap around to the underside a bit.

Decals are superbly printed by Cartograf so you know you are getting the best.
