This time, for the Hasegawa Ki-43-II, comes a set for two aircraft. The set includes insignia, unit markings and masks for both the inside and outside of the canopy. Also included are a number of strips that are to be used when masking the various fuselage bands and the white 'bandages' on the second option.
First up in Dark Green over unpainted metal is Hachio Yokoyama's 24 sentai aircraft from Sumatra in May of 1943. It carries a white spinner and yellow leading edge ID bands.
The other is from the 23rd sentai in 1944 with the white 'bandages' around the insignia that were usually carried by home defense fighter units. This is overall unpainted metal with a rather heavy mottling of dark green and the usual yellow wing ID badges.
As with all the K series sets, there is a color three view of each option to assist with markings placement.
My thanks to Design and Marketing International for the review set. Visit them to order this and other fine Montex sets.
