For the Wingman/Kinetic, Avant Garde, and F.M. kits

Thanks to the recent release of the Wingman/Kinetic 1/48 Fouga Magisters, Max Decals has provided an excellent set of markings for this as well as the Avant Garde and FM kits.

There are ten sets of markings covering the aircraft of eight different countries. It is no surprise that many of the countries on this sheet were once colonies of France and so it would be natural for them to acquire military gear from there.

First one up is from the Irish Air Corps, one of the last users of this aircraft. There are enough serials to allow you to build any of the six aircraft that they flew. These planes are silver lacquer with gloss da-glo bands.

Below that is one of several flown by the Bangladesh Air Force in 1989. These are yellow with orange and da-glo panels.

Togo had theirs camouflaged in green, brown, and tan over light grey. This scheme is from around 1980.

The fourth nation is Algeria. Their planes are also from the early 1980s and in tan and sand over blue with daglo bits.

Morocco flew theirs during the 1980s as well, starting with their planes in overall silver with white noses and later in the decade camouflaging them.

Senegal also has two markings options. One is an overall dark green while the other from the 1990s is in a camouflage scheme similar to those flown by Morocco.

El Salvador flew their Magisters in the mid-1990s and they were camouflaged in an overall khaki brown.

Finally Cameroon had their four color camouflaged planes flying in the 1980s as well.

The decals are superbly printed with no registration errors. There are data markings included on the sheet and the instructions are printed in full color showing the full camouflage scheme where required. In all, a great sheet and one you should get if you have or plan on getting a 1/48 Magister.

May 2014.
