Tiger Meet 2004 saw a number of very interesting and colorful aircraft. Included was this KC-135E from the 141 ARS (an ex-F-4E Phantom operator). This has to be the largest aircraft ever to carry a tiger marking and one was provided on the left side of the fuselage just ahead of the wings. As with all these meet markings, they were removed shortly after the event, a shame.

You have few choices for kits. There is the AMT KC-135 series that has also been marketed by ESCI. The instructions also state that Heller has done a KC-135, though I've not seen it. The color given in the guide for this aircraft is FS36118 Gunship Grey, but I'm thinking that this aircraft was probably painted in AMC Grey (the number of which escapes me at the moment), a bit lighter shade.

This sheet is available in only in 1/72 as no one has had the temerity to do a KC-135 in 1/48!
