RAF Hawks are all in the current overall gloss black trainer colors and this black background provides an excellent canvas for some very nice display aircraft schemes. For those wanting to use this sheet, there are actually several Hawks out there. Matchbox, Airfix, Fujimi and Italeri all make them, though most will want to use the somewhat newer and probably more accurate Italeri kit.

Both aircraft are in overall gloss black. The first one is from BAe Systems with the nice Union Jack on the tail is the 30th Anniversary display aircraft. The second is from 100 Squadron at St Athan and is in honor of 100 years of flight.

The instructions are excellent for these planes and show precisely where all the stenciling and markings are to be applied. There is even an interior color reference and some small color photos of these aircraft to assist with building. My instructions for the BAe Systems aircraft were smeared, but it wasn't enough to make placement difficult to determine. Decals are superbly printed and experience shows that they are quite opaque so no worries about bleed-through. This set included an addendum sheet. It seems that there were a few issues concerning some of the markings that have been corrected as the red on the additional sheet is darker than on the original.
