RAF Hawks are all in the current overall gloss black trainer colors and this black background provides an excellent canvas for some very nice display aircraft schemes. For those wanting to use this sheet, there are actually two 1/48 Hawks around. First is the particularly beastly Premier kit and the other is the much nicer Airfix kit, a kit of rather recent vintage.
Both aircraft are in overall gloss black. The first one is from BAe Systems with the nice Union Jack on the tail is the 30th Anniversary display aircraft. The second is from 100 Squadron at St Athan and is in honor of 100 years of flight.
The instructions are excellent for these planes and show precisely where all the stenciling and markings are to be applied. There is even an interior color reference and some small color photos of these aircraft to assist with building. Decals are superbly printed and experience shows that they are quite opaque so no worries about bleed-through. Those who build in 1/72 will find this sheet available in that scale as well.
