Thanks to the release of the new Classic Airframes 1/48 F-5B kits, Leading Edge has produced a decal sheet just for the twin seat CF-5D. Deciding to initially concentrate on the early silver paint scheme, this sheet will enable you to build any aircraft then in service. Just to give you a bit of a run-down, these aircraft operated with markings for 434 Sq, 419 Sq, AETE, and with Cold Lake. There are even different schemes for the 419 Sq aircraft, including the light blue tail band as well as a plain black outline marking and one in red with the black moose superimposed over the 419.
In addition there is a full stencil suite and the ability to put on slime lights, those these are really only applicable to a very few planes with AETE. You also get the early dual language markings that were put on the first aircraft. A very nice addition is the inclusion of the forward anti-glare panel. While the serials of some specific aircraft are given, there are enough additional serial numbers for you to be able to do any of the fleet.
As always with Leading Edge Decals, there is a superb decal placement and painting guide. This sheet is available in both 1/48 for the Classic Airframes kit and in 1/72 for the Italeri/AMT/ESCI kit.
