Note:

The fiftieth anniversary of D-day was in 1994 and to commemorate that event, 441 Squadron painted up two planes with invasion stripes and codes used during that time period. Both of the Hornets were in the standard paint scheme of FS 35237 over 36375. 441's tail checks were also applied, making for an attractive paint scheme.

There were some subtle differences in the markings for these two planes and both of these have been accounted for on the decal sheet. In addition, there are two kits that are used by most modelers when doing the CF-18 in 1/48 scale from Hasegawa and Revell/Monogram. These are quite similar, but again, there are differences. Specifically it is in the size of the vertical stabilizers. To be sure that your model will have unaltered markings, Leading Edge has provided rudder checks designed specifically for each kit. I have not shown the full sheet of wing stripes as all the sheets won't fit on the platen of my scanner.

To ensure that you get the marking on properly, there is even an application sequence with full instructions on getting a proper fit for the fuselage invasion stripes. Leading Edge has gone to great lengths to be sure that this sheet will provide the finest model possible and it very much shows.
