This latest sheet from Leading Edge Decals covers the most recent camouflage scheme applied to the CAF's C-130 fleet, a changeover that started in the mid 1990s. The shade is peculiar to the Canadia Hercules fleet and is FS 26099. No model paint is this shade though 36118 Gunship Grey is pretty close and should be darkened a bit for proper contrast with the decals. There are sufficient markings in this set to do any of the CAF's C-130E or C-130H aircraft, including the high time Herc, 130315, which retired in 1995 with 45,277 flight hours.

Just for information, all Canadian C-130s up to serial 130337 are C-130Es with the rest being C-130H models. The H model can also be fitted with wing refueling pods (which in 1/72 can be robbed from the Matchbox Victor kit as they are quite close). The sheet has not only a wide variety of serials and unit badges, but also full data markings, including will walk outlines. These wing walk areas were generally a lighter or darker shade from the rest of the airframe and would be matte.

Like all Leading Edge sheets, the instructions are first rate  and the decals themselves superbly printed in Canada.

It makes for an excellent option to the kit decals and is one that no 1/72 Canadian AF fan should be without.
