Moving on,  Leading Edge Decals has also done their 1/32 sheet for 1/48 scale modelers.  This particular set is for those planes participating in the 1957 NATO Gunnery Meet. These are all camouflaged aircraft with the PRU Blue undersides. This was something of a transition time in regard to unit codes as well. The old squadron Letter codes were being replaced with RCAF and so for most of these planes, the option is available if you wish it. There were also some planes that were decorated with special tail bands just for this event. Leading Edge also provides additional serial/codes for other planes so you are not limited to what is shown in the profiles. It also is why there are three sheets in this set. You'll notice that there are enough data markings for two complete aircraft.

The decals are of the highest quality, which is what you expect from one of Canada's premiere decal producers. In addition to an outstanding set of decals, Leading Edge provides full reference and placement materials so that you can be sure that your Sabre model will be as eye-catching as the sheet you have used. There is no recommended kit, but I'm sure most will be using the Hasegawa kit for this one, though there are others from Academy or Monogram that should work. .

If you have never used a Leading Edge sheet, you will be in for a real treat!
