Leading Edge 32-95: 60 years of NORAD CF-18A

Units: See Review

Scott Van Aken

Note: Also available in 1/48 and 1/72 scale

It seems that every year, 410 Squadron is tasked with providing that year's display scheme and this one celebrates 60 years of NORAD. The set is pretty intensive and is designed for the big Academy kit. As you can see, you get four sheets that include all of the special markings along with the red stripe areas. You will have to paint the blue and white areas, and are provided masks to help out.

These masks (not shown unless you want to see yellow rectangles) are a real boon for doing complex schemes like this. There are three full sheets of masks. Basically, you use these to cover the white areas of the scheme along with the canopy.

Instructions for this set are excellent as is the norm for Leading Edge. The set has, in addition to the placement and painting instructions, a large sheet with a lot of detail photos of the real deal to help you constructing your Hornet.

It is another great set from Leading Edge and is bound to sell out quickly.
