Note: Sheet is 1/72 . Also available in 1/48

This particular sheet covers the full range of units  in the IAF that have used the F-16A/B "Netz". It has now been 30 years since the aircraft first entered the IAF inventory back in 1979-80. They were quickly put into action with one of their first well-known exploits being the destruction of the Iraqi nuclear plant in 1981.

This set provides markings for every IAF F-16 ever flown and that includes not only squadron badges and markings, but also the various names given to the planes of the 'First Jet' squadron and the differing serial presentations that have been used over the years. There are sufficient data markings and insignia to allow the builder to complete two models using this set. This includes a selection of kill markings and some alternate color data markings, depending on the time period of the aircraft.

Unlike earlier sets, this one does not have your usual paper markings and color guide. Instead, all of that information in supplied on the enclosed CD. In addition to the usual superb full color guides, there are a number of sections that focus on certain aircraft. In these sections are, in some cases, dozens of photos in both black and white and full color. These will be extremely helpful for getting some small details. The decals themselves are first rate, printed in the Czech Republic.

A couple of notes on this set. First of all, when first delivered and for much of their operational life, these planes had the smaller tail planes of the block 5 and block 10 aircraft. They were all later retrofitted with the broader tail planes and those that came from extant USAF stocks had these as well. In addition, later in life, these planes were outfitted with chaff/flare dispensers at the base of the fin. Just a few things of which one should be aware before plunging into the build process.

Overall, an excellent set and one that is a must for any IAF fan who works in 1/72 scale.
