You wouldn't have thought that Hasegawa did aftermarket sheets. At least, I didn't until I got this one in with a pile of others. It is, of course, for Hasegawa's rather old and somewhat inaccurate F-8E Crusader kit. However, due to the design of the decals, I'm sure these would fit the much nicer Academy version if you wanted to give it a go.
The sheet has markings for four aircraft from three units, all in the matte light gull grey over gloss white scheme. There is one set for VF-11 (with two different serials), two for VF-211 aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard that includes one with a lot of MiG kill markings on the ventral fins, and a very nice VMF-122 aircraft for the Marines. I used similar markings on my Academy Crusader and think it is the best of the lot. The 122 plane offers three different serials/nose numbers.
The sheet does not include insignia or common data markings, but all the unique ones are there for each plane. These don't look like the standard somewhat thick kit decals, but as I've never used these, I have no idea how they would work to setting solutions and the like. Regardless, you might want to give a set a try if you run across one.
